2. Privacy Policy

Compliant with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR") and the Estonian Personal Data Protection Act.
Plain-language summary We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. HLL Arty Calc runs fully offline on your device. The only network connection that may occur is the optional in-app donation, which is processed entirely by Google Play. We operate no servers and have no user accounts.

2.1 Data controller

Bytebandits OÜ
Tartu mnt 67/1-13b, Kesklinna linnaosa
10115 Tallinn, Estonia
Email: max@byte-bandits.com

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer because we are not required to do so under Art. 37 GDPR. For any privacy-related question, please contact the email address above.

2.2 What we do NOT do

2.3 Data stored locally on your device

To throttle the optional donation prompt — so it does not appear too often — the app stores a small number of values in Android's SharedPreferences, which is private application storage isolated to this app on your device:

These values never leave your device. They contain no personal data, no identifiers, and no information about what you calculated. They are deleted automatically when you uninstall the app or when you clear the app's data via Android system settings.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in not over-prompting our users with donation requests). You can object at any time by clearing app data; the app remains fully functional.

2.4 Android permissions used

The app does not request internet, location, storage, contacts, camera, microphone, Bluetooth, or any other sensitive permission.

2.5 In-app purchases (donations) via Google Play

HLL Arty Calc offers three voluntary, consumable donation tiers (small / medium / large). These do not unlock any features of the app — the app is fully functional without paying. Donations are processed exclusively by Google Play Billing, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and its affiliates.

When you make a donation:

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of the donation transaction you requested) and, on Google's side, the basis stated in Google's privacy policy.

2.6 Children

HLL Arty Calc is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly process personal data of children below the digital-consent age applicable in their country (typically 13–16 years within the EU). Because the app does not collect personal data from any user, no specific data of children is collected either.

2.7 International data transfers

We do not transfer any personal data ourselves, since we do not collect any. Google may transfer billing data to countries outside the European Economic Area as described in its own privacy policy and on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission and/or other appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR.

2.8 Data retention

2.9 Security

Because we transmit no personal data, no transmission-related risk exists on our side. The donation flow is conducted over Google Play's TLS-encrypted infrastructure. We follow generally recognized practices for the development and signing of Android applications.

2.10 Your rights under the GDPR

As a data subject within the European Union, you have the following rights vis-à-vis us:

To exercise any of these rights, please write to max@byte-bandits.com. We will respond within one month of receiving your request, in accordance with Art. 12 (3) GDPR.

2.11 Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority for our company is:

Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate)
Tatari 39, 10134 Tallinn, Estonia
Website: https://www.aki.ee/en

2.12 Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the app or to applicable law. The current version is identified by the "Effective date" shown at the top of this document. Material changes will be communicated through the release notes of a corresponding app update.

3. Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the HLL Arty Calc Android application provided by Bytebandits OÜ. By installing or using the app, you agree to be bound by them.

3.1 Acceptance & scope

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("user", "you") and Bytebandits OÜ, Tartu mnt 67/1-13b, 10115 Tallinn, Estonia ("we", "us", "our"). They apply in addition to the Google Play Terms of Service and the developer-specific terms presented by Google Play upon installation. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not install or use the app.

3.2 Description of the service

HLL Arty Calc is a free, offline Android application that converts a distance value (in metres) into an estimated artillery elevation value (in mils) for the video game Hell Let Loose. The app is provided "as is" for personal, non-commercial gameplay assistance.

3.3 License grant

We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, worldwide license to download, install, and use HLL Arty Calc on Android devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

3.4 In-app purchases (donations)

The app offers three voluntary donation tiers ("Small Support", "Medium Support", "Large Support"). Donations:

3.5 EU consumer right of withdrawal for digital content

Where the donation qualifies as the supply of digital content within the meaning of §312f (3) of the German Civil Code (BGB) and Article 16 (m) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under §§312g, 355 BGB applies in principle.

However, by initiating a donation you expressly consent to the immediate commencement of performance and acknowledge that, in accordance with §356 (5) BGB, you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun. This is the standard digital-goods carve-out.

This does not affect any statutory warranty rights or rights you may have against Google as the payment processor under its own terms.

3.6 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

3.7 Calculator accuracy

The mathematical models used by HLL Arty Calc are best-effort approximations derived from publicly available community measurements (see source attributions in our repository). Hell Let Loose game mechanics may change with any game update, and our formulas may lag behind such changes. We provide the calculator for informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for verifying the suitability of any result in-game and for any in-game consequences (teamkills, lost rounds, sanctions, bans, etc.).

3.8 Intellectual property

The app, including its source code, design, layout, and original artwork, is © 2026 Bytebandits OÜ and protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Hell Let Loose, "HLL", the names of game factions and vehicles, and any associated logos belong to their respective rights holders — see §5 (Trademark & Third-Party IP Notice).

3.9 Warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. The foregoing does not affect your mandatory statutory warranty rights as a consumer (in particular §§434 ff. BGB).

3.10 Limitation of liability

We are liable without limitation:

For slight negligence we are only liable for the breach of essential contractual obligations ("cardinal duties"), and even then only up to the foreseeable, typically occurring damage. All further liability is excluded. Because the app is provided free of charge and donations are gratuitous, no additional warranty or liability arises from a donation.

3.11 Third-party services

The app interacts with Google Play and the Google Play Billing Library for donations. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or terms of those services, which are governed by your agreement with Google.

3.12 Term and termination

These Terms apply for as long as the app is installed on your device. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the app. We may discontinue or substantially modify the app at any time, giving reasonable advance notice via the Google Play listing where this is feasible. The license to use any local copy you have installed remains in effect until uninstall.

3.13 Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

If you are a consumer with habitual residence in another country of the European Union or the European Economic Area, the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected (Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 — "Rome I").

If you are a merchant, legal person under public law, or special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be Berlin, Germany. For consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction applies.

3.14 EU Online Dispute Resolution

See §1 (Imprint). We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§36 VSBG).

3.15 Severability

Should any provision of these Terms be or become invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a valid and enforceable provision that comes as close as possible to the economic intent of the original provision.

3.16 Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time, in particular to adapt them to new features of the app or to changes in the law. The current version is identified by the "Effective date" at the top of this document. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the release notes of a corresponding app update. Continued use of the app after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

4. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Please read carefully — this section makes clear that HLL Arty Calc is an independent fan project.

4.1 Unofficial fan project — no affiliation

HLL Arty Calc is an independent, unofficial, fan-made calculator for the video game Hell Let Loose. It is not developed, published, endorsed, sponsored by, licensed by, or otherwise affiliated with Black Matter Pty Ltd, Team17 Group plc, or any of their parent, subsidiary, or affiliated companies. All in-game terminology used within the app is used for the sole purpose of identifying the in-game items to which the calculator applies (nominative fair use).

4.2 No warranty as to accuracy

The calculation results provided by the app are informational approximations based on community measurements. Game mechanics in Hell Let Loose may change at any time without notice, in which case our formulas may temporarily become inaccurate. We make no representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the correctness, completeness, currentness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any value displayed by the app.

4.3 No liability for in-game consequences

We accept no responsibility for any consequences arising from your use of the app inside Hell Let Loose or any other game, including but not limited to friendly-fire incidents, lost matches, lost ranks, account suspensions or bans, or any disputes with other players or with the game publisher. You alone are responsible for your conduct in-game.

4.4 External links

Where this document links to external websites (such as Google's privacy policy or the EU ODR platform), we have no influence on the content of those external sites and accept no liability for that content. The respective operators of the linked sites are solely responsible for their content.

4.5 Limitation of liability (recap)

For the full statement of our liability regime, please refer to §3.10. Nothing in this Disclaimer is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot, under applicable mandatory law, be excluded or limited.
